Comillas’s University signed on December 2019 and sent to the European Commission the declaration of commitment to de principles of the “Charter for European Researchers” and the “Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers”. This initiative, known as Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R), aims to create an open and transparent labour market promoting career prospects for researchers.
- European Charter for Researchers: The European Charter for Researchers is a set of general principles and requirements defining the roles, responsibilities and rights of researchers, entrepreneurs and funders.
- Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers: The Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, which does not differ much from the standard rules on hiring, stresses the importance of open and transparent procurement procedures, and also of diverse and experienced selection teams.
The charter and the code of conduct contains forty basic principles. For the implementation of these, a procedure have been drawn up that includes an internal gap analysis of the regulations and current procedures and activities followed at the University, and the design of an action plan for improvement to reach the standard of excellence in Human resources for researchers.
The appliance of this accreditation voluntary. Research centres that earn this accreditation, commits, according with its internal policies, to further develop its internal human resources strategy, adhering to the recommendations and the principles set out in the Charter and Code and to guarantee transparency, accessibility, equity, and the pursuit of excellence in the recruitment of researchers.
More than 507 organisations, 108 of them Spanish have received the HR Excellence in Research award
